24
¡®No one can serve two masters; for a slave will either
hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the
one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and
wealth.*
25 ¡®Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your
life, what you will eat or what you will drink,* or
about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more
than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at
the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor
gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds
them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And can
any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span
of life?* 28 And why do you worry about clothing? Consider
the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither
toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all
his glory was not clothed like one of these. 30 But if
God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive
today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he
not much more clothe you?you of little faith? 31Therefore
do not worry, saying, ¡°What will we eat?¡± or ¡°What
will we drink?¡± or ¡°What will we wear?¡± 32 For it
is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and
indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all
these things. 33 But strive first for the kingdom of
God* and his* righteousness, and all these things will
be given to you as well. 34 ¡®So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow
will bring worries of its own. Today¡¯s trouble is enough
for today.

16:13
No slave can serve two masters; for a slave will
either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and
despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.¡¯
12:22 And he said unto his disciples,
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall
eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
12.23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
12.24 Consider the ravens: for they neither
sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth
them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
12.25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
12.26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
12.27 Consider the lilies how they grow:
they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in
all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
12.28 If then God so clothe the grass, which
is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much
more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
12.29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
12.30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
12.31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
