They went to a place called Gethsemane; and he said
to his disciples, ‘Sit here while I pray.’ 33He took
with him Peter and James and John, and began to be distressed
and agitated. 34And he said to them, ‘I am deeply grieved,
even to death; remain here, and keep awake.’ 35And
going a little farther, he threw himself on the ground
and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might
pass from him. 36He said, ‘Abba,* Father, for you all
things are possible; remove this cup from me; yet, not
what I want, but what you want.’ 37He came and found
them sleeping; and he said to Peter, ‘Simon, are you
asleep? Could you not keep awake one hour? 38Keep awake
and pray that you may not come into the time of trial;*
the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.’
39And again he went away and prayed, saying the same
words. 40And once more he came and found them sleeping,
for their eyes were very heavy; and they did not know
what to say to him. 41He came a third time and said
to them, ‘Are you still sleeping and taking your rest?
Enough! The hour has come; the Son of Man is betrayed
into the hands of sinners. 42Get up, let us be going.
See, my betrayer is at hand.’
32 他們來到一個地方、名叫客西馬尼．耶穌對門徒說、你們坐在這裡、等我禱告。33 於是帶著彼得、雅各、約翰同去、就驚恐起來、極其難過。
34 對他們說、我心裡甚是憂傷、幾乎要死．你們在這裡、等候儆醒。
35 他就稍往前走、俯伏在地禱告說、倘若可行、便叫那時候過去。
36 他說、阿爸、父阿、在你凡事都能．求你將這杯撤去．然而不要從我的意思、只要從你的意思。
37 耶穌回來、見他們睡著了、就對彼得說、西門、你睡覺麼。不能儆醒片時麼。
38 總要儆醒禱告、免得入了迷惑．你們心靈固然願意、肉體卻軟弱了。
39 耶穌又去禱告、說的話還是與先前一樣。
40 又來、見他們睡著了、因為他們的眼睛甚是困倦．他們也不知道怎樣回答。
41 第三次來、對他們說、現在你們仍然睡覺安歇罷．〔罷或作麼〕彀了、時候到了．看哪、人子被賣在罪人手裡了。
42 起來、我們走罷．看哪、那賣我的人近了。 |

Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane;
and he said to his disciples, ‘Sit here while I go
over there and pray.’ 37He took with him Peter and
the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and
agitated. 38Then he said to them, ‘I am deeply grieved,
even to death; remain here, and stay awake with me.’
39And going a little farther, he threw himself on the
ground and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, let
this cup pass from me; yet not what I want but what
you want.’ 40Then he came to the disciples and found
them sleeping; and he said to Peter, ‘So, could you
not stay awake with me one hour? 41Stay awake and pray
that you may not come into the time of trial;* the spirit
indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.’ 42Again
he went away for the second time and prayed, ‘My Father,
if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be
done.’ 43Again he came and found them sleeping, for
their eyes were heavy. 44So leaving them again, he went
away and prayed for the third time, saying the same
words. 45Then he came to the disciples and said to them,
‘Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? See,
the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed
into the hands of sinners. 46Get up, let us be going.
See, my betrayer is at hand.’
36 耶穌同門徒來到一個地方、名叫客西馬尼、就對他們說、你們坐在這裡、等我到那邊去禱告。
37 於是帶著彼得、和西庇太的兩個兒子同去、就憂愁起來、極其難過．
38 便對他們說、我心裡甚是憂傷、幾乎要死．你們在這裡等候、和我一同儆醒。
39 他就稍往前走、俯伏在地、禱告說、我父阿、倘若可行、求你叫這杯離開我．然而不要照我的意思、只要照你的意思。
40 來到門徒那裡、見他們睡著了、就對彼得說、怎麼樣、你們不能同我儆醒片時麼。
41 總要儆醒禱告、免得入了迷惑．你們心靈固然願意、肉體卻軟弱了。
42 第二次又去禱告說、我父阿、這杯若不能離開我、必要我喝、就願你的意旨成全。
43 又來見他們睡著了、因為他們的眼睛困倦。
44 耶穌又離開他們去了．第三次禱告、說的話還是與先前一樣。 45 於是來到門徒那裡、對他們說、現在你們仍然睡覺安歇罷。〔罷或作麼〕時候到了、人子被賣在罪人手裡了。
46 起來、我們走罷．看哪、賣我的人近了。 |

He came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount
of Olives; and the disciples followed him. 40When he
reached the place, he said to them, ‘Pray that you
may not come into the time of trial.’* 41Then he withdrew
from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed,
42‘Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from
me; yet, not my will but yours be done.’ [[ 43Then
an angel from heaven appeared to him and gave him strength.
44In his anguish he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat
became like great drops of blood falling down on the
ground.]]* 45When he got up from prayer, he came to
the disciples and found them sleeping because of grief,
46and he said to them, ‘Why are you sleeping? Get up
and pray that you may not come into the time of trial.’*
39 耶穌出來、照常往橄欖山去．門徒也跟隨他。
40 到了那地方、就對他們說、你們要禱告、免得入了迷惑。
41 於是離開他們、約有扔一塊石頭那麼遠、跪下禱告、
42 說、父阿、你若願意、就把這杯撤去．然而不要成就我意思、只要成就你的意思。 43 有一位天使從天上顯現、加添他的力量。
44 耶穌極其傷痛、禱告更加懇切．汗珠如大血點、滴在地上。
45 禱告完了、就起來、到門徒那裡、見他們因為憂愁都睡著了．
46 就對他們說、你們為甚麼睡覺呢．起來禱告、免得入了迷惑。
