When he entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him,
appealing to him 6and saying, ‘Lord, my servant is
lying at home paralysed, in terrible distress.’ 7And
he said to him, ‘I will come and cure him.’ 8The centurion
answered, ‘Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under
my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant will
be healed. 9For I also am a man under authority, with
soldiers under me; and I say to one, “Go”, and he
goes, and to another, “Come”, and he comes, and to
my slave, “Do this”, and the slave does it.’ 10When
Jesus heard him, he was amazed and said to those who
followed him, ‘Truly I tell you, in no one* in Israel
have I found such faith. 11I tell you, many will come
from east and west and will eat with Abraham and Isaac
and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, 12while the heirs
of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness,
where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
13And to the centurion Jesus said, ‘Go; let it be done
for you according to your faith.’ And the servant was
healed in that hour.
5 耶穌進了迦百農、有一個百夫長進前來、求他說、6 主阿、我的僕人害癱瘓病、躺在家裡、甚是疼苦。
7 耶穌說、我去醫治他。
8 百夫長回答說、主阿、你到我舍下、我不敢當．只要你說一句話、我的僕人就必好了。
9 因為我在人的權下、也有兵在我以下．對這個說、去、他就去．對那個說、來、他就來．對我的僕人說、你作這事、他就去作。
10 耶穌聽見就希奇、對跟從的人說、我實在告訴你們、這麼大的信心、就是在以色列中、我也沒有遇見過。
11 我又告訴你們、從東從西、將有許多人來、在天國裡與亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、一同坐席．
12 惟有本國的子民、竟被趕到外邊黑暗裡去．在那裡必要哀哭切齒了。13 耶穌對百夫長說、你回去罷．照你的信心、給你成全了。那時、他的僕人就好了。 |

After Jesus* had finished all his sayings in the hearing
of the people, he entered Capernaum. 2A centurion there
had a slave whom he valued highly, and who was ill and
close to death. 3When he heard about Jesus, he sent
some Jewish elders to him, asking him to come and heal
his slave. 4When they came to Jesus, they appealed to
him earnestly, saying, ‘He is worthy of having you
do this for him, 5for he loves our people, and it is
he who built our synagogue for us.’ 6And Jesus went
with them, but when he was not far from the house, the
centurion sent friends to say to him, ‘Lord, do not
trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come
under my roof; 7therefore I did not presume to come
to you. But only speak the word, and let my servant
be healed. 8For I also am a man set under authority,
with soldiers under me; and I say to one, “Go”, and
he goes, and to another, “Come”, and he comes, and
to my slave, “Do this”, and the slave does it.’ 9When
Jesus heard this he was amazed at him, and turning to
the crowd that followed him, he said, ‘I tell you,
not even in Israel have I found such faith.’ 10When
those who had been sent returned to the house, they
found the slave in good health.
1 耶穌對百姓講完了這一切的話、就進了迦百農。2 有一個百夫長所寶貴的僕人、害病快要死了。
3 百夫長風聞耶穌的事、就託猶太人的幾個長老、去求耶穌來救他的僕人。
4 他們到了耶穌那裡、就切切的求他說、你給他行這事、是他所配得的．
5 因為他愛我們的百姓、給我們建造會堂。
6 耶穌就和他們同去。離那家不遠、百夫長託幾個朋友去見耶穌、對他說、主阿、不要勞動．因你到我舍下、我不敢當．
7 我也自以為不配去見你、只要你說一句話、我的僕人就必好了。
8 因為我在人的權下、也有兵在我以下、對這個說去、他就去．對那個說來、他就來．對我的僕人說、你作這事、他就去作。
9 耶穌聽見這話、就希奇他、轉身對跟隨的眾人說、我告訴你們、這麼大的信心、就是在以色列中我也沒有遇見過。
10 那託來的人回到百夫長家裡、看見僕人已經好了。 |

Then he came again to Cana in Galilee where he had changed
the water into wine. Now there was a royal official
whose son lay ill in Capernaum. 47When he heard that
Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged
him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the
point of death. 48Then Jesus said to him, ‘Unless you*
see signs and wonders you will not believe.’ 49The
official said to him, ‘Sir, come down before my little
boy dies.’ 50Jesus said to him, ‘Go; your son will
live.’ The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to
him and started on his way. 51As he was going down,
his slaves met him and told him that his child was alive.
52So he asked them the hour when he began to recover,
and they said to him, ‘Yesterday at one in the afternoon
the fever left him.’ 53The father realized that this
was the hour when Jesus had said to him, ‘Your son
will live.’ So he himself believed, along with his
whole household. 54Now this was the second sign that
Jesus did after coming from Judea to Galilee.
46 耶穌又到了加利利的迦拿、就是他從前變水為酒的地方．有一個大臣、他的兒子在迦百農患病。
47 他聽見耶穌從猶太到了加利利、就來見他、求他下去醫治他的兒子．因為他兒子快要死了。
48 耶穌就對他說、若不看見神蹟奇事、你們總是不信。
49 那大臣說、先生、求你趁著我的孩子還沒有死、就下去。
50 耶穌對他說、回去罷．你的兒子活了。那人信耶穌所說的話、就回去了。
51 正下去的時候、他的僕人迎見他、說他的兒子活了。
52 他就問甚麼時候見好的。他們說、昨日未時熱就退了。
53 他便知道這正是耶穌對他說你兒子活了的時候、他自己和全家就都信了。
54 這是耶穌在加利利行的第二件神蹟、是他從猶太回去以後行的。
