As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up and
knelt before him, and asked him, ‘Good Teacher, what
must I do to inherit eternal life?’ 18Jesus said to
him, ‘Why do you call me good? No one is good but God
alone. 19You know the commandments: “You shall not
murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not
steal; You shall not bear false witness; You shall not
defraud; Honour your father and mother.” ’ 20He said
to him, ‘Teacher, I have kept all these since my youth.’
21Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said, ‘You lack
one thing; go, sell what you own, and give the money*
to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then
come, follow me.’ 22When he heard this, he was shocked
and went away grieving, for he had many possessions.
23
Then Jesus looked around and said to his disciples,
‘How hard it will be for those who have wealth to enter
the kingdom of God!’ 24And the disciples were perplexed
at these words. But Jesus said to them again, ‘Children,
how hard it is* to enter the kingdom of God! 25It is
easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle
than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of
God.’ 26They were greatly astounded and said to one
another,* ‘Then who can be saved?’ 27Jesus looked
at them and said, ‘For mortals it is impossible, but
not for God; for God all things are possible.’
28
Peter began to say to him, ‘Look, we have left everything
and followed you.’ 29Jesus said, ‘Truly I tell you,
there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters
or mother or father or children or fields, for my sake
and for the sake of the good news,* 30who will not receive
a hundredfold now in this age?houses, brothers and sisters,
mothers and children, and fields, with persecutions?and
in the age to come eternal life. 31But many who are
first will be last, and the last will be first.’
17 耶穌出來行路的時候、有一個人跑來、跪在他面前問他說、良善的夫子、我當作甚麼事、纔可以承受永生。
18 耶穌對他說、你為甚麼稱我是良善的．除了 神一位之外、再沒有良善的。
19 誡命你是曉得的、不可殺人、不可姦淫、不可偷盜、不可作假見證、不可虧負人、當孝敬父母。
20 他對耶穌說、夫子、這一切我從小都遵守了。 21 耶穌看著他、就愛他、對他說、你還缺少一件．去變賣你所有的、分給窮人、就必有財寶在天上．你還要來跟從我。
22 他聽見這話、臉上就變了色、憂憂愁愁的走了．因為他的產業很多。
23 耶穌周圍一看、對門徒說、有錢財的人進 神的國是何等的難哪。
2 門徒希奇他的話。耶穌又對他們說、小子、倚靠錢財的人進 神的國、是何等的難哪。
25 駱駝穿過鍼的眼、比財主進 神的國、還容易呢。 26 門徒就分外希奇、對他說、這樣誰能得救呢。
27 耶穌看著他們說、在人是不能、在 神卻不然．因為 神凡事都能。
28 彼得就對他說、看哪、我們已經撇下所有的跟從你了。
29 耶穌說、我實在告訴你們、人為我和福音、撇下房屋、或是弟兄、姐妹、父母、兒女、田地。30 沒有不在今世得百倍的、就是房屋、弟兄、姐妹、母親、兒女、田地、並且要受逼迫．在來世必得永生。
31 然而有許多在前的將要在後、在後的、將要在前。 |

Then someone came to him and said, ‘Teacher, what good
deed must I do to have eternal life?’ 17And he said
to him, ‘Why do you ask me about what is good? There
is only one who is good. If you wish to enter into life,
keep the commandments.’ 18He said to him, ‘Which ones?’
And Jesus said, ‘You shall not murder; You shall not
commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not
bear false witness; 19Honour your father and mother;
also, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ 20The
young man said to him, ‘I have kept all these;* what
do I still lack?’ 21Jesus said to him, ‘If you wish
to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the
money* to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven;
then come, follow me.’ 22When the young man heard this
word, he went away grieving, for he had many possessions.
23
Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Truly I tell you,
it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom
of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel
to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who
is rich to enter the kingdom of God.’ 25When the disciples
heard this, they were greatly astounded and said, ‘Then
who can be saved?’ 26But Jesus looked at them and said,
‘For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things
are possible.’
27
Then Peter said in reply, ‘Look, we have left everything
and followed you. What then will we have?’ 28Jesus
said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, at the renewal of
all things, when the Son of Man is seated on the throne
of his glory, you who have followed me will also sit
on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters
or father or mother or children or fields, for my name’s
sake, will receive a hundredfold,* and will inherit
eternal life. 30But many who are first will be last,
and the last will be first.
16 有一個人來見耶穌說、夫子、〔有古卷作良善的夫子〕我該作甚麼善事、纔能得永生。
17 耶穌對他說、你為甚麼以善事問我呢、只有一位是善的、〔有古卷作你為什麼稱我是良善的除了 神以外沒有一個良善的〕你若要進入永生、就當遵守誡命。
18 他說、甚麼誡命．耶穌說、就是不可殺人、不可姦淫、不可偷盜、不可作假見證、
19 當孝敬父母．又當愛人如己。
20 那少年人說、這一切我都遵守了．還缺少甚麼呢。 21 耶穌說、你若願意作完全人、可去變賣你所有的、分給窮人、就必有財寶在天上、你還要來跟從我。
22 那少年人聽見這話、就憂憂愁愁的走了．因為他的產業很多。
23 耶穌對門徒說、我實在告訴你們、財主進天國是難的。
24 我又告訴你們、駱駝穿過鍼的眼、比財主進 神的國還容易呢。
25 門徒聽見這話、就希奇得很、說、這樣誰能得救呢。 26 耶穌看著他們說、在人這是不能的．在 神凡事都能。
27 彼得就對他說、看哪、我們已經撇下所有的跟從你、將來我們要得甚麼呢。
28 耶穌說、我實在告訴你們、你們這跟從我的人、到復興的時候、人子坐在他榮耀的寶座上、你們也要坐在十二個寶座上、審判以色列十二個支派。
29 凡為我的名撇下房屋、或是弟兄、姐妹、父親、母親、〔有古卷添妻子〕兒女、田地的、必要得著百倍、並且承受永生。
30 然而有許多在前的將要在後、在後的將要在前。 |

A certain ruler asked him, ‘Good Teacher, what must
I do to inherit eternal life?’ 19Jesus said to him,
‘Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.
20You know the commandments: “You shall not commit
adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal;
You shall not bear false witness; Honour your father
and mother.” ’ 21He replied, ‘I have kept all these
since my youth.’ 22When Jesus heard this, he said to
him, ‘There is still one thing lacking. Sell all that
you own and distribute the money* to the poor, and you
will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.’
23But when he heard this, he became sad; for he was
very rich. 24Jesus looked at him and said, ‘How hard
it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom
of God! 25Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through
the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to
enter the kingdom of God.’

Those who heard it said, ‘Then who can be saved?’
27He replied, ‘What is impossible for mortals is possible
for God.’
28
Then Peter said, ‘Look, we have left our homes and
followed you.’ 29And he said to them, ‘Truly I tell
you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers
or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom
of God, 30who will not get back very much more in this
age, and in the age to come eternal life.’
18 有一個官問耶穌說、良善的夫子、我該作甚麼事、纔可以承受永生。
19 耶穌對他說、你為甚麼稱我是良善的．除了 神一位之外、再沒有良善的。
20 誡命你是曉得的、不可姦淫、不可殺人、不可偷盜、不可作假見證、當孝敬父母。
21 那人說、這一切我從小都遵守了。
22 耶穌聽見了、就說、你還缺少一件．要變賣你一切所有的、分給窮人、就必有財寶在天上．你還要來跟從我。
23 他聽見這話、就甚憂愁、因為他很富足。
24 耶穌看見他就說、有錢財的人進 神的國、是何等的難哪。
25 駱駝穿過鍼的眼、比財主進 神的國、還容易呢。
26 聽見的人說、這樣、誰能得救呢。27 耶穌說、在人所不能的事、在 神卻能。
28 彼得說、看哪、我們巳經撇下自己所有的跟從你了。
29 耶穌說、我實在告訴你們、人為 神的國、撇下房屋、或是妻子、弟兄、父母、兒女、
30 沒有在今世不得百倍、在來世不得永生的。
