Then Paul took the men, and the next day, having purified
himself, he entered the temple with them, making public
the completion of the days of purification when the
sacrifice would be made for each of them.
27
When the seven days were almost completed, the Jews
from Asia, who had seen him in the temple, stirred up
the whole crowd. They seized him, 28shouting, ‘Fellow-Israelites,
help! This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere
against our people, our law, and this place; more than
that, he has actually brought Greeks into the temple
and has defiled this holy place.’ 29For they had previously
seen Trophimus the Ephesian with him in the city, and
they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple.
30Then all the city was aroused, and the people rushed
together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the
temple, and immediately the doors were shut. 31While
they were trying to kill him, word came to the tribune
of the cohort that all Jerusalem was in an uproar. 32Immediately
he took soldiers and centurions and ran down to them.
When they saw the tribune and the soldiers, they stopped
beating Paul. 33Then the tribune came, arrested him,
and ordered him to be bound with two chains; he inquired
who he was and what he had done. 34Some in the crowd
shouted one thing, some another; and as he could not
learn the facts because of the uproar, he ordered him
to be brought into the barracks. 35When Paul* came to
the steps, the violence of the mob was so great that
he had to be carried by the soldiers. 36The crowd that
followed kept shouting, ‘Away with him!’
使徒行傳 21 章 26 於是保羅帶著那四個人、第二天與他們一同行了潔淨的禮、進了殿、報明潔淨的日期滿足．只等祭司為他們各人獻祭。27 那七日將完、從亞西亞來的猶太人、看見保羅在殿裡、就聳動了眾人、下手拿他、
28 喊叫說、以色列人來幫助、這就是在各處教訓眾人蹧踐我們百姓、和律法、並這地方的．他又帶著希利尼人進殿、污穢了這聖地。
29 這話是因他們曾看見以弗所人特羅非摩、同保羅在城裡、以為保羅在帶他進了殿。
30 合城都震動、百姓一齊跑來、拿住保羅、拉他出殿、殿門立刻都關了。
31 他們正想要殺他、有人報信給營裡的千夫長說、耶路撒冷合城都亂了。
32 千夫長立時帶著兵丁、和幾個百夫長、跑下去到他們那裡．他們見了千夫長和兵丁、就止住不打保羅。33 於是千夫長上前拿住他、吩咐用兩條鐵鍊捆鎖．又問他是甚麼人、作的是甚麼事。
34 眾人有喊叫這個的、有喊叫那個的．千夫長因為這樣亂嚷、得不著實情、就吩咐人將保羅帶進營樓去。35 到了臺階上、眾人擠得兇猛、兵丁只得將保羅抬起來。
36 眾人跟在後面、喊著說、除掉他。
