In those days when there was again a great crowd without
anything to eat, he called his disciples and said to
them, 2‘I have compassion for the crowd, because they
have been with me now for three days and have nothing
to eat. 3If I send them away hungry to their homes,
they will faint on the way?and some of them have come
from a great distance.’ 4His disciples replied, ‘How
can one feed these people with bread here in the desert?’
5He asked them, ‘How many loaves do you have?’ They
said, ‘Seven.’ 6Then he ordered the crowd to sit down
on the ground; and he took the seven loaves, and after
giving thanks he broke them and gave them to his disciples
to distribute; and they distributed them to the crowd.
7They had also a few small fish; and after blessing
them, he ordered that these too should be distributed.
8They ate and were filled; and they took up the broken
pieces left over, seven baskets full. 9Now there were
about four thousand people. And he sent them away. 10And
immediately he got into the boat with his disciples
and went to the district of Dalmanutha.

The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, asking
him for a sign from heaven, to test him. 12And he sighed
deeply in his spirit and said, ‘Why does this generation
ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given
to this generation.’ 13And he left them, and getting
into the boat again, he went across to the other side.
14
Now the disciples* had forgotten to bring any bread;
and they had only one loaf with them in the boat. 15And
he cautioned them, saying, ‘Watch out?beware of the
yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.’* 16They
said to one another, ‘It is because we have no bread.’
17And becoming aware of it, Jesus said to them, ‘Why
are you talking about having no bread? Do you still
not perceive or understand? Are your hearts hardened?
18Do you have eyes, and fail to see? Do you have ears,
and fail to hear? And do you not remember? 19When I
broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many
baskets full of broken pieces did you collect?’ They
said to him, ‘Twelve.’ 20‘And the seven for the four
thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did
you collect?’ And they said to him, ‘Seven.’ 21Then
he said to them, ‘Do you not yet understand?’
1 那時、又有許多人聚集、並沒有甚麼喫的．耶穌叫門徒來、說、2 我憐憫這眾人、因為他們同我在這裡已經三天、也沒有喫的了。3 我若打發他們餓著回家、就必在路上困乏．因為其中有從遠處來的。4 門徒回答說、在這野地、從那裡能得餅、叫這些人喫飽呢。5 耶穌問他們說、你們有多少餅．他們說、七個。
6 他吩咐眾人坐在地上、就拿著這七個餅、祝謝了、擘開遞給門徒叫他們擺開、門徒就擺在眾人面前。
7 又有幾條小魚．耶穌祝了福、就吩咐也擺在眾人面前。
8 眾人都喫、並且喫飽了．收拾剩下的零碎、有七筐子。
9 人數約有四千。耶穌打發他們走了、
10 隨即同門徒上船、來到大瑪努他境內。
11 法利賽人出來盤問耶穌、求他從天上顯個神蹟給他們看、想要試探他。12 耶穌心裡深深的歎息說、這世代為甚麼求神蹟呢。我實在告訴你們、沒有神蹟給這世代看。
13 他就離開他們、又上船往海那邊去了。
14 門徒忘了帶餅．在船上除了一個餅、沒有別的食物。
15 耶穌囑咐他們說、你們要謹慎、防備法利賽人的酵、和希律的酵。16 他們彼此議論說、這是因為我們沒有餅罷。
17 耶穌看出來、就說、你們為甚麼因為沒有餅就議論呢。你們還不省悟、還不明白麼．你們的心還是愚頑麼。
18 你們有眼睛、看不見麼、有耳朵、聽不見麼．也不記得麼。
19 我擘開那五個餅分給五千人、你們收拾的零碎、裝滿了多少籃子呢．他們說、十二個。
20 又擘開那七個餅分給四千人、你們收拾的零碎、裝滿了多少筐子呢．他們說、七個。21
耶穌說、你們還不明白麼。 |

:32 Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said,
‘I have compassion for the crowd, because they have
been with me now for three days and have nothing to
eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, for
they might faint on the way.’ 33The disciples said
to him, ‘Where are we to get enough bread in the desert
to feed so great a crowd?’ 34Jesus asked them, ‘How
many loaves have you?’ They said, ‘Seven, and a few
small fish.’ 35Then ordering the crowd to sit down
on the ground, 36he took the seven loaves and the fish;
and after giving thanks he broke them and gave them
to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the
crowds. 37And all of them ate and were filled; and they
took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full.
38Those who had eaten were four thousand men, besides
women and children. 39After sending away the crowds,
he got into the boat and went to the region of Magadan.

:1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test Jesus*
they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. 2He
answered them, ‘When it is evening, you say, “It will
be fair weather, for the sky is red.” 3And in the morning,
“It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.”
You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky,
but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.* 4An
evil and adulterous generation asks for a sign, but
no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.’
Then he left them and went away.

When the disciples reached the other side, they had
forgotten to bring any bread. 6Jesus said to them, ‘Watch
out, and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.’
7They said to one another, ‘It is because we have brought
no bread.’ 8And becoming aware of it, Jesus said, ‘You
of little faith, why are you talking about having no
bread? 9Do you still not perceive? Do you not remember
the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many
baskets you gathered? 10Or the seven loaves for the
four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? 11How
could you fail to perceive that I was not speaking about
bread? Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!’
12Then they understood that he had not told them to
beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of
the Pharisees and Sadducees.
32 耶穌叫門徒來說、我憐憫這眾人、因為他們同我在這裡已經三天、也沒有喫的了．我不願意叫他們餓著回去、恐怕在路上困乏。33 門徒說、我們在這野地、那裡有這麼多的餅、叫這許多人喫飽呢。34 耶穌說、你們有多少餅．他們說、有七個、還有幾條小魚。35 他就吩咐眾人坐在地上。 36 拿著這七個餅和幾條魚、祝謝了、擘開、遞給門徒．門徒又遞給眾人。37 眾人都喫、並且喫飽了、收拾剩下的零碎、裝滿了七個筐子。38 喫的人、除了婦女孩子、共有四千。39 耶穌叫眾人散去、就上船、來到馬加丹的境界。
1 法利賽人和撒都該人、來試探耶穌、請他從天上顯個神蹟給他們看。2 耶穌回答說、晚上天發紅、你們就說、天必要晴。3 早晨天發紅、又發黑、你們就說、今日必有風雨。你們知道分辨天上的氣色、倒不能分辨這時候的神蹟。4 一個邪惡淫亂的世代求神蹟、除了約拿的神蹟以外、再沒有神蹟給他看．耶穌就離開他們去了。
5 門徒渡到那邊去、忘了帶餅。
6 耶穌對他們說、你們要謹慎、防備法利賽人和撒都該人的酵。
7 門徒彼此議論說、這是因為我們沒有帶餅罷。
8 耶穌看出來、就說、你們這小信的人、為甚麼因為沒有餅彼此議論呢。
9 你們還不明白麼、不記得那五個餅、分給五千人、又收拾了多少籃子的零碎麼．
10 也不記得那七個餅、分給四千人、又收拾了多少筐子的零碎麼。
11 我對你們說、要防備法利賽人和撒都該人的酵、這話不是指著餅說的．你們怎麼不明白呢。
12 門徒這纔曉得他說的、不是叫他們防備餅的酵、乃是防備法利賽人和撒都該人的教訓。 |
